Designed for longevity | The West Australian

Drawing inspiration from America’s east coast Hamptons homes, The Lakeview is a flawless marriage between sophisticated design and functional family living.

Built in March, this two-storey home embraces stunning views of Woodlands’ Jackadder Lake Reserve and expresses a quiet, coastal theme to match.

Along with four generously sized bedrooms, the home makes way for an ensuite, bathroom, powder room, activity space, study and adult retreat.

“The master bedroom is downstairs, with the secondary bedrooms upstairs,” Oswald Homes General Manager Jay Walter said.

“The home was designed for longevity, so the owner could age in the home and not have to worry about the use of stairs every day. The lower level is like a single-storey home.

“The upper level is really the kids’ area to rule the roost, with their bedrooms meeting the activity area which has views across to the lake, and any mess is out of sight from parents.”

Downstairs, a study also takes advantage of views of the lake and can be used as a parents’ retreat or home business space, allowing residents to receive visitors without them needing to fully come into the home.

“As the family ages, the kids are able to maintain privacy upstairs and, when they move out, the room locations on the ground floor mean you can cut off access to part of the home,” Mr Walter said.

“When building, we pictured a younger family with kids going into primary school that would be able to walk or ride their bikes each day to school and have the park across the road for playing with friends on the weekend.

“The parents would be regular walkers and have the local cafe and restaurants on their doorstep.”

The Lakeview’s outdoor area flows seamlessly from the kitchen and draws an abundance of natural light, summer breezes and openness into the home.

A lush garden and the surrounding family-friendly suburb only enhance the home’s appeal.

The Lakeview is open for viewing on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4pm.
