Registered Nurse and cosmetic injector Alex Dinovich is the new face at Bradford Skin Clinic
Bradford resident Alex Dinovich is a Registered Nurse and Cosmetic Injector who has moved her home based beauty bar business into the Bradford Skin Clinic.
“It’s a big opportunity for me and it’s going to be great,” she said.
Dinovich used to work as a nurse at various hospitals and community care homes, but after having her second son two years ago, she decided to follow her passion for helping people feel good, and open her own business, allowing her to spend more time with family.
“I always had a passion for beauty,” explained Dinovich. “I love making people feel good,” she said, noting that this is the best way she can do that without being at a hospital for 12 hours a day.
Dinovich offers services in cosmetic injectables, which help to smooth out wrinkles on the face.
“It really makes a difference inside,” she said, noting that treatments that help enhance external beauty, can help tremendously with internal.
“The outside affects so much on our inside, people don’t realize how crucial it is to make yourself feel good.”
She says her goal is to help “preserve” a woman’s beauty as opposed to “exaggerating” it.
“There are some clients I have to send away,” she explained, noting that she refuses requests that make people look unnatural.
“I preserve their look for many years, I don’t change it,” she explained.
She said most of her clients come in to fill in the odd wrinkle here and there, usually on their forehead or around the eyes. Botox is meant to stop muscle contractions, she explained, which helps soften wrinkles, whereas filler adds volume, to features like the lips and cheeks.
“They go hand in hand in the cosmetic industry, but they have nothing to do with each other,” she clarified.
She said results typically don’t take full effect until after the two week mark.
“It’s a life changing experience, because you don’t know what is out there until you try it,” she said of the effects the process has on her clients.
“The important thing is that they (the clients) walk away feeling like their old selves, but refreshed and renewed.”
Dinovich has around 300 clients who come from all over the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Most of her clientele are women aged 30 and over.
“Just seeing the joy on a woman’s face when they see the results,” is what she says is her favourite part of her job.
Dinovich graduated from York University’s nursing program in 2013, and worked in various hospitals and community care homes before deciding to go back to school to ontain her injector certification in 2017.
She is continuously taking courses and attending beauty industry conferences to keep herself abreast of the latest technologies and treatments in the world of medical cosmetics.
“In this industry everything is always evolving, and I find that if I don’t keep up with the education, I’ll stay behind,” she explained.
Dinovich has lived in Canada since 2007, but lived in Israel until she married in 2015.
At the time, her and her husband were looking for a community to call home, and after coming to check out Bradford, they fell in love. They knew this is where they wanted to reside and raise a family.
In 2016, they purchased a brand new home and haven’t looked back since. They have two boys, ages one and three and are happy with the life they have built in Bradford so far.
Although working from home did have its perks, Dinovich is excited at the new opportunity to bring her work to a brick-and-mortar location.
“It feels wonderful, because when you’re at home there’s always a distraction,” she explained.
Dinovich prides herself on offering injectables at affordable prices.
“I want to stay as affordable as possible for the public, otherwise it becomes too expenseive and people can’t maintain,” she explained.
Dinovich assures her clients, all services she offered at her home clinic will remain the same, just offered at the location in the West Park Plaza.
At the beginning of the pandemic, her home business was shut down for two months, but since being allowed to take clients in again, she said she has been busier than ever.
“I think June was my strongest month,” she shared. “It was crazy, I could not sit for one second, I think people really missed their injections.
In her new space, she is hoping to be able to attract an even larger clientele, offering services at the clinic seven days a week.
