Homes And Businesses In Clare Without Power As Storm Aidan Hits

Over 100 homes and businesses in West Clare are without power.

The 162 premises in Kilkee lost power as Storm Aidan made landfall this morning.

ESB crews have been notified and estimate that supply will be restored by shortly after 1pm this afternoon.

An orange weather alert remains in place for Clare until 4 o’clock this afternoon.

Met Éireann has forecast gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour, with coastal areas worst affected.

Gusts have reached 89 kilometres per hour at Shannon Airport so far at 1pm this afternoon.

Clare County Council is warning people in this county to exercise caution during today’s orange weather warning.
