DACC receives a gift

Danville Area Community College is a groundbreaking project at the former U.S. Army Reserve facility at 2408 E. Main St for a remodeling project to enhance and expand nursing, medical imaging, and medical information technology education facilities. It will be held on June 25th.

The $ 5.7 million project is funded with the help of a new gift from the Julius W. Hegeller II Foundation.

Mr. Hegerer’s latest gift to the university was made after his death, with the Foundation recognizing what DACC meant in Mr. Hegerer’s life.

“We saw that DACC needs to expand its health education and more people need to get into the health profession,” said board member Royce Wise.

DACC President Stephen Nacco said he hopes to be able to fund the rest of the project with state and federal support.

Open for repair
